About Us!

 

Coyote Moon Trading Company began in 2010, as an idea, an evolution of the store we had in Sparta, Wisconsin. We had been looking for a property for over 2 years, when we found our current store space, in Ordway, Colorado. We opened our doors in October 2011 and, right away, we made a big hit with the local young people.

 

Hi, I am Erin Gjertsen. The kids call me the Coyote Moon Lady(since they call the shop Coyote Moon Store). I am what you might call the woman behind the curtain, the person who runs the store and makes most of the store decisions. I have been working in customer service since I was in high school. In 1996, I opened my first store in Sparta, Wisconsin. The store has evolved in so many ways. Just like me, it changes and moves from place to place, but there is always some common thread in each new evolution. I believe that miracles and magic are around us every day. Just the fact that the Sun rises in the morning and the Earth spins in its orbit is magic to me. I like to look at life as a wonderful adventure. You never know what will be coming around the next corner!

Ralph, is my husband/partner and I would not have a store, if it were not for his love and support. We have been together since 1991. Ralph is a wonderful guy and a great carpenter! When I am running the store, Ralph may be out helping someone build their dream kitchen, or fixing their broken door, or he might just be working out back in our garden. He loves to grow things!

Ralph is a very talented, versatile, and creative guy. I feel fortunate to have him in my life. The people Ralph helps feel fortunate to have found him, too! Ralph believes in creating something that makes you feel good when you look at it, rather than something that is just inexpensive. Quality has always been one of his hallmarks. Both Ralph and I believe that life is supposed to be fun, that anything is possible, and the only limitations we have are self imposed. We do our best to treat others the way we would like to be treated. It is our experience that people are doing the best they can given their current awareness, including us. We are all on different paths, finding our own way in life. Ralph and I have our good days and our not so good days, just like everyone else. All in all, I like to think that we are pretty nice people, just like our customers.
